Prologue

It was a sleep like death. When Eda came to her senses, she found herself tied up. She tried to move her hands, but they wouldn’t move.

The only relief was that she was tied up on a soft bed.

“Why? So you can run away again?”

The man looking down at her had glinting golden eyes. He was lying down, holding Eda in his arms.

He must have looked over her sleeping face again and again.

Oh, how bloodshot this man’s eyes were. Eda looked up at him with an unspoken plea.

“I have no intention of letting you go ever again.”

“Astaldo.”

“You think I’d be in my right mind after my wife ran away?”

Astaldo smiled as he caressed Eda’s face. Unlike her body which was roughly tied up, his touch was still as gentle and affectionate as before.

“You have no idea how long I’ve been looking for you.”

The heat of the man’s body raised Eda’s temperature. He cupped her face and explored her lips.

It didn’t take long for the faint kiss to deepen into a passionate kiss that entwined their tongues.

Her lips quickly became wet, and something hot flooded her mouth. Even with just a kiss, her body easily became aroused.

Unlike Eda, whose eyes fluttered shut as their tongues met, the man didn’t close his eyes.

“Hhng…”

With passion in his gaze, the man took in every detail with his eyes and ears— every twitch of her brows, every sound she made.

Astaldo’s hand brushed over Eda’s slender face. His teeth sank into the fine line of her nape.

When Eda flinched in pain, his lips pressed against her neck. A red mark was left on her neck.

He wrapped his arms around Eda’s waist and pulled her close. As if tying her with rope wasn’t enough, he embraced her in his arms again.

“If you want to die, then die. I’ll tie up even your corpse.”

He growled as he spoke. His large hand dug into her thigh. Then, he placed Eda on top of his seated body.

She could feel the arousal of the man between her legs. Eda looked down at him, realizing what his heated body meant.

The moment she saw the bloodshot intensity in his eyes, Eda knew. She would never be able to run away from him again.

Where had it all gone wrong?

Was it marrying you, the younger brother of my husband?

Or was it—

Was it a mistake for someone like me to have fallen in love with this man?
